User Interface for donating and participating in the beer fundraising program

The Ales for ALS website provides options for beer lovers impacted by ALS to enjoy beer while supporting an important cause, dionating to ALS research. Ten percent of all fatal ALS cases are inherited, which is why a hop farming family with hereditary ALS created the ALS for ALS program in 2013. For over a decade, breweries from 47 states and six countries have raised more than $6.5 million for ALS research.

Challenges

Results

The website now promotes more than 50 fundraising events per year. The new flexible participation options increased participation by 14% in the first year of implementation.

User-Centered Design

The design is based on user-centered design methods and prior research. Comprehensive analysis in close coordination with experts were executed. The ideation phase included paper and digital wireframes and prototypes.

The new Drink Beer page shows real supporters of the program and explains the many ways people can get involved.
